Thatcham Town Council takes its responsibilities as a local service provider very seriously and the health, wellbeing and safety of the local community is its priority.
Following the recent outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) the Town Council convened a meeting of its Emergency Committee on 11th March 2020 to review what actions should be taken to help support the control of the spread of the virus and to maintain delivery of services to the best of its ability in this unprecedented situation.
An assessment of all areas of the Town Council’s service delivery is being prepared as a matter of priority (in line with guidance provided by the UK Government, Public Health England and the NHS, details of which can be found at www.gov.uk) and an action plan implemented.
Given the pace at which this situation is evolving, this guidance will be checked at least once per day and actions will be reviewed and amended accordingly.
To help keep the local community informed, Thatcham Town Council will share information, published by the UK Government, Public Health England and the NHS, in a variety of ways; through its social media, on its website and on its public noticeboard in Thatcham Broadway.
Thatcham Town Council is mindful of the importance and value that local information can play in this situation and will keep abreast of the scale and proximity of the virus in the local community.
If you have any local knowledge that you feel might be useful to the Town Council (giving no personal details), please contact the Council Offices through any of the channels detailed below or contact your local Town Councillor, whose details can be found on the Town Council website or on the noticeboard in the town centre.
