Remembrance Day- Remember from Home

Remembrance- Remember from Home
Please note due to Covid-19 and Government Guidelines, residents will not be able to attend this years Remembrance Parade and Service. Thatcham Town Council will instead live-stream a restricted service for members of public to watch whilst they “Remember from Home”. Tune in to Thatcham Town Council’s YouTube channel (http://bit.ly/ThatchamTC) from 10.45am on Sunday 8th November to watch live.
Residents can also get involved and pay their respects by printing off (or we suggest drawing their own Poppy) to colour in and place in their windows at home. A template will be available in the Thatcham Town Council Newsletter which will be delivered to residents before 8th November. Alternatively, simply print or draw any Poppy picture and display in a prominent window.
The Town Council is also asking Thatcham residents to join in ‘The Great Poppy Knit’ and knit, crochet or stitch poppies which will be included as part of a community installation on Thatcham Broadway from 8th November. Please bring all handmade poppies to the Thatcham Town Council Offices in Brownsfield Road by 30th October.
For more information on The Great Poppy Knit or to request a Colour Me Poppy sheet, please contact the Town Council on: enquiries@thatchamtowncouncil.gov.uk or call 01635 863592.
Thatcham’s War Memorial
The War Memorial is set in a small garden at the junction of Brownsfield Road and London Road (A4). The garden and memorial are maintained by the Thatcham Memorial Hall & Playing Fields Foundation. To see details of the War Memorial please visit the West Berkshire War Memorials website.
